THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Keralavarma Pazhassiraja’ and ‘Ividam Swargamanu’ have bagged the Atlas Film Critics award for the best film category.

Announcing the awards, Atlas Group chairman M M Ramachandran, Kerala Film Critics Association president Thekkinkadu Joseph and general secretary Mannarakayam Baby said here on Friday that Hariharan, director of the film Pazhassiraja was adjudged the best director.

The producers of the best films will be given a cash prize of Rs.50,000 each. Best director award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000, citation and memento.

‘Paleri Manikyam Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Katha’ is the second best film. The producer of the film will be given a cash prize of Rs.25,000, citation and memento.

Innocent and Kaniha have been selected as the best actor and best actress for their performances in ‘Patham Nilayile Theevandi’ and  ‘Bhagyadevatha’.

 The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each. Jagathy Sreekumar has been selected for the Chalachithra Ratnam award for his contributions to the Malayalam cinema. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.30,000, citation and memento.
