THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Naxal Varghese murder case convict former IG K Lakshmana, who was admitted to the Medical College Hospital on Friday, was brought back to the Central Prison here on Sunday.

Prison sources said that Lakshmana was re-admitted to the prison after he was discharged from the hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday after the prison doctor observed variation in his ECG test results.

There were allegations that the former police officer was being given undue favours in the prison, including a separate cell. However, prison officials said that it was on the basis of the court’s directive that Lakshmana was being given more facilities.
