Kerala IT team to attend Gitex in Dubai

A senior-level delegation from Kerala IT will participate in the Gitex Technology Week-2012 to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre from October 14-18. Gitex is a leading ICT business gateway to West Asia, North Africa and South Asia.

 The team will be led by P H Kurian, Principal Secretary- IT. He will be joined by Vijayakumar, Special Secretary to Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, Technopark CEO Girish Babu, Infopark CEO Gigo Joseph, Technopark Senior Business Development Manager  M Vasudevan and other representatives of IT companies from Technopark and Infopark.

The state will showcase the IT parks in the state, including Technocity, Kollam Technopark, Infopark Cherthala and Kinfra High Tech Park, along with various other investment opportunities in the IT sector across Kerala. Kerala IT has been participating in Gitex in the past to showcase the investment opportunities in the state to the West Asia market.

Commenting on Kerala IT’s participation in Gitex, Girish Babu said, “The state is truly capitalising on its geographical attributes and transforming itself into a prominent IT destination in the country through focused initiatives in IT infrastructure development, human resource development and citizen e-enablement.”

“Participation in this event has always been an excellent platform to showcase the growth of Kerala IT. Companies like SunTec, Coresys IT, SBL Corp, Qburstetc will also be participating in Gitex-2012,” added Gigo Joseph, CEO, Infopark.

Launched in 1981, Gitex is the ICT business gateway to the West Asia, North Africa and South Asia regions. It is an annual international trading hub for the global technology sector. Gitext acts as both an inbound sourcing platform for the entire West Asia region and the eminent source for anyone interested in doing business in the region.
