Nod for unmanned KSEB sub-station

Express News Service

It’s good news for the people of Pattoor as the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has given the go-ahead for setting up a 33 KV sub-station here at a cost of Rs 7.42 crore.

The sub-station will be an outdoor, unmanned version, KSEB officials said. ‘’All 33 KV sub-stations are envisaged as unmanned, but we generally post a technical hand there. Pattoor will be no different. The sub-station will serve the immediate locality,’’ KSEB Chief Engineer (Transmission - South) C V Babukuttan said.

The KSEB had given administrative sanction for the proposal at a board meeting in February. The works under the proposal include installation of transformers and constructing one transformer bay at the 110 KV sub-station, Medical College, and laying of single circuit underground cable from the 110 KV sub-station, Medical College, to the proposed 33 KV Pattoor sub-station.

The new sub-station will come up on land owned by KSEB on the premises of Pettah electrical section office.
