Southern Railway Reschedules Some Trains

Southern Railway will run a Superfast premium special train between Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram to clear the rush of people for Sabarimala.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Owing to the yard remodeling work at Shoranur junction on December 15, 16, 22 and 23, Southern Railways has rescheduled a few trains. Train No 16604 Thiruvananthapuram - Mangaluru Central Maveli Express, which will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central on December 15 is likely to be late by 40 minutes.

Train No 16629, T’Puram - Mangaluru Central Malabar Express, which will leave T’Puram Central on Dec  15, is likely to be delayed by about 30 minutes. Train No 12685 Chennai - Mangaluru Express, which leaves Chennai Central on December 15, is likely to run delayed by about 30 minutes. Train No 16629 T’Puram - Mangaluru Central Malabar Express, which leaves Thiruvananthapuram Central on December 22, is likely to be delayed by about 60 minutes. Train No 12685 Chennai - Mangaluru Express, which leaves Chennai Central on Dec  22, is likely to be delayed by about 30 minutes.

Bangalore-Tvm Trains for Sabarimala Season

In order to clear the extra rush of passengers for Sabarimala season, Southern Railway will run a Superfast premium special train between Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram.

Train number 02657 Bangalore Cantonment to Thiruvananthapuram Central special premium train will start from Bangalore Cantonment at 7.15 p m on December 15 and 20 (Monday and Saturday) to reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 8.30 am the next day.

In the return direction, train number 02658 will start from Thiruvananthapuram Central at 6.45 p m on December 16 and 21 (Tuesday and Sunday) as Ordinary Superfast Express train to reach Bangalore Cantonment at 8.10 am the next day.

With a composition of one 2 Ac, three 3AC, and nine sleeper class coaches the train will have stoppages at Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Erode and Bengarpet stations.

The Southern Railway also announced that train number 16861/16862 Pondicherry-Kanyakumari - Pondicherry Express trains would be temporarily augmented with one second class sitting coach with reservation facility.

The train leaving Pondicherrry will have this facility till March 5.
