THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A short, bald guy in an Argentinian uniform braces for the ball. He ducks and then a perfect header scores him 300 points. Confused? This is Soccer Boba, a football based flash game developed by Bangalore based Crazyantz Pvt. Ltd.
With FIFA fever gripping the nation, the Malayali game developers Subhash and Raneesh hit upon Soccer Boba. The game is fairly simple, dress your ‘Boba’ according to your favorite team (from Portugal to Croatia they have it all) and wait for the brazooka to drop. The Boba can be motion controlled or moved by using your fingers. The objective is to keep the ball from touching the ground and gain more points by popping bubbles in the process.
Crazyantz has been in the gamedeveloping industry for almost 4 years. It was only in December 2013 that they went private and relocated to Bangalore. Now operating from Electronics City, they have been collaborating with foreign gamedevelopers and have over 40 games in their collective.
“We have independently created over 10 games,” says Subhash. “The most popular ones being Busman 3D and Motor Maniac.” Busman 3D is an online game wherein one exercises their parallel parking skills - with a bus. It has 18 levels and makes for a great break time fun.
Soccer Boba was timed to coincide with the World Cup. However due to complications, the launch was delayed by a few weeks. The game features replayability similar to Angry Birds. The user can play again and break one’s own score. An added bonus is that you can upload your scores on Facebook.
The game as already garnered a 5.0 rating on Google Play. Google users comment that the game is simple and fast yet highly addictive. Crazyantz is planning to upgrade the game according to its reception. “We plan to include animals in our next version,” says Subhash.
