Kamala Goenka Awards for Hindi Litterateurs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bangalore-based organisation ‘Kamala Goenka Foundation and Kerala-based Hindi Vidyapeetham’ are jointly organising an event on December 5 at the Fourth Estate Hall, Trivandrum Press Club, to honour three personalities who have contributed to the field of Hindi language.

N Chandrasekharan Nair will be honoured with the ‘Balakrishna Goenka Hindi Sahitya Samman’ for his contributions to the Hindi language and literature while yesteryear actor Madhu will be awarded the ‘Dakshina Dhwajadhari Samman’ for his contributions to the field of art and Hindi language. Author Prabhakaran Hebbar Illam will be awarded the Balakrishna Goenka Anoodith Sahitya Puraskaram’ for his hindi translation of K P Sudheera’s work ‘Ganga’. 

The awardees have been decided by jury comprising V V Visvam, S Tangamaniamma and M S Vinayachandran, R A Shanti and Arzoo. The event will be presided over by Vellayani Arjunan. Noted Hindi literateurs Shyam Sundar Goenka and Lalitha Goenka will attend.
