THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:In view of senior Congress leader V M Sudheeran’s revelations regarding Vizhinjam port project, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should explain the truth, CPM veteran V S Achuthanandan has said. The allegations raised against Chandy are serious in nature, he said.

“Sudheeran, the then KPCC chief, has disclosed that Oommen Chandy protected the interests of Adani Group in the Vizhinjam deal. The LDF had also taken a stance that there was corruption involved in the Vizhinjam deal, and that it was anti-people. The allegation that the then Chief Minister took a unilateral decision against the state’s interests is of serious nature,” VS said.  VS also termed Chandy’s reluctance to respond on the issue even after two days, as escapism.
