THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Parassala railway police on Tuesday booked two Rajasthanis for attempting to smuggle gold ornaments weighing 4.279 kg to jewellery stores in Nagercoil.

The police took them into custody with the jewellery from the Mumbai-Kanyakumari Jayanthi Jantha Express train. 

The arrested Pavan Limpa and Sravan Kumar from Jodhpur kept the ornaments worth Rs 1.56 crore under the seat of the train. The accused confessed to police that they had been taking the ornaments from a showroom in Mumbai to various showrooms here.
