VIJAYAWADA: Cosmo Sports Trust in association with The Cosmopolitan Club will host the three-day Gokaraju Ranga Raju Memorial 73rd South Zone Inter State Badminton Championship at Cosmopolitan Club, Bhimavaram in West Godavari district from August 27 to 30, said club secretary T Krishna Babu.
In a press release issued here on Saturday, Krishna Babu said that the championship was aimed at encouraging budding sportsmen across the South Zone. Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association Chief Executive Officer K Punnaiah Chowdary will inaugurate the championship on Sunday.
“As many as 144 players and 30 technical staff from Telangana, Tamil Nadu , Pondicherry, Kerala and Karnataka are participating in the three-day event. The championships are being conducted for the Senior (Men & Women) and Junior (Boys & Girls),” said Babu.
