VIJAYAWADA: BC leader and TDP legislator in Telangana R Krishnaiah vehemently opposed the Kapu Reservation Act brought by the State Government to include Kapus in the BC list.

Participating as chief guest for the convention organised by AP Backward Classes Welfare Association here on Thursday, Krishnaiah said “I am ready to give up my membership in Telugu Desam Party and sacrifice my life if the AP government provides reservation for the Kapus. The propaganda of the State government that inclusion of Kapus in BC list will not hamper the interest of BCs is completely misleading. If what they say is true, let them prove it.”

The BC leader also found fault with Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan’s support to Kapu reservations. ‘’If Pawan Kalyan was really committed to the welfare of all sections, he should oppose the Reservation Act brought by the State Government as it did not heed the report drafted by BC Commission chairman KL Manjunath,’’ he said.
