VIJAYAWADA: A 16-year-old class X girl allegedly committed suicide at Kolavennu village in Kankipadu on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Gurajada Srivallika, resorted to the extreme step reportedly after a dispute with her neighbour Muvva Yashwanth.
According to police, the student of Kolavennu Zilla Parishad High School was depressed after a dispute with her neighbour Yashwanth, Earlier on Saturday, Yaswanth and Srivallika quarrelled over some issue, following which Srivallika went into her home and didn’t come out even after 30 minutes. This made Yaswant suspicious.
When he opened the door, which was not locked from inside, he found her hanging from the ceiling fan. With a ray of hope, Yaswanth lowered her with the help of neighbours, but in vain. Police has registered a case and shifted the body for post mortem. “We have registered a case under Section 174, 323 and 306 of the IPC. The investigation is on to ascertain the cause of death,” said Kankipadu Circle Inspector K Sridhar.
