VIJAYAWADA: Demanding that the real culprits in the sensational rape-murder case of B-Pharmacy student Ayesha Meera, who was brutally killed in her hostel room in Ibrahimpatnam on December 27, 2007, should be arrested, Ayesha Meera Nyaya Porata Samithi (AMNPS) and several women rights organizations said the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government had utterly failed to render justice to Ayesha’s parents.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, representatives of AMNPS flayed Vijayawada police for its lapses in the investigation and said that Satyam Babu was falsely implicated in the case to ‘close’ it. “To save the real culprits, Vijayawada police had framed Satyam Babu.

After High Court acquitted Babu, it’s the responsibility of the government to find the real killers. It’s been four years since the TDP has come to power, but there has been no such move taken to arrest the real killers,” said Sridevi of AMNPS.
