VIJAYAWADA: Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) of South Coast Railway (SCoR), Tapan Kumar Sinha, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Diesel Loco Shed in Vijayawada on August 21, as part of Railway Board’s Immersive Drive initiative.

The evaluation focused on evaluating maintenance compliance across the Major Overhauling (MOH) Electrical, Mechanical, and Brake sections, as well as scrutinising record parameters against prescribed safety standards and reviewing corrective measures.

PCEE also reviewed material management, housekeeping, scrap disposal, and interacted with ground-level staff to address operational challenges.

Tapan commended the Vijayawada facility for being the only shed across Indian Railways to undertake in-house repairs of Load Control Console (LCC) cards used in DMUs.

To further bolster operational capacity, PCEE inaugurated an Air Compressor and CCB Test Bench for Electric Locomotives. In recognition of the shed’s high standards, resource optimisation, and workplace safety practices, Tapan Kumar Sinha presented a cash award to the shed staff.
