UK and USA have jointly floated Global Innovation Initiative (GII) to strengthen research collaboration between universities in UK, USA, and select countries such as India, China, Brazil and Indonesia. GII was created to support multilateral research collaboration to address global challenges and was announced by John Kerry, US Secretary of State, and William Hague, UK Foreign Secretary, in June and formally launched in the UK in October by David Willetts MP, Minister for Universities and Science, UK. “Institutions can nominate researchers for a grant to work on Energy, environment and climate change, agriculture, food security and water, global health and well-being and urbanisation,” says Dhanasekaran, head of partnerships and policy dialogues, British Council, Chennai. Toefl test dates announced
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet-based exam (iBT) 2013-14 will be conducted across 29 cities in India on various dates from November to February 2014. For a complete list, check www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/register?WT.ac=toeflhome_ibtregister_121127. You can register online, by phone, by mail or in person. Registrations close seven days before the test date while registering online, in person or by phone and four weeks before the test date while registering by mail. You can retake the TOEFL iBT test as many times as you wish, but cannot take it more than once in a 12-day period. You also cannot register for another test date that is within 12 days of their existing TOEFL iBT test appointment.
