Mukesh, Methil Devika Present 'Naga'

PALAKKAD: Far away from the din and buzz of politics, actor Mukesh and his wife Methil Devika performed a dance drama before a large audience as part of the dance and music festival in the run up to the pooram at the Thirupuraikkal Bhagavathy temple in Puthur.

The dance drama ‘Naga’, written by Girish Karnad, narrates the story of the characters of Appanna and Naga. Its recorded version feature actor Mohanlal’s voice and music is composed by Sreevalsan J Menon. Mukesh, who hails from a family of artists, was well received by the audience here. Earlier, speaking to mediapersons here the actor said that he was not affected by  protests which took place in Kollam following floating of his name as candidate from the Kollam assembly constituency.

He said that the protests took place before the party’s official announcement of his candidature.

The actor said that he will begin campaign in the constituency from Sunday.He said that he has learnt from his father how to handle politics and art together. Mukesh claimed that he was not new to politics and had served as the Chairman of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, which was a political appointment. Mukesh’s wife Methil Devika said that Mukesh accepted the offer to contest in the elections as he was sure of victory.
