Nazriya Nazim, is one angry 18-year-old today. The focus of her ire is the presence of certain scenes done by a body double (of a women’s hip being pinched) for her film with Dhanush, Naiyyandi, slated for an October 11 release. The actor, has raised the issue with the Nadigar Sangam on Sunday. Speaking to CE, from Kerala, where she’s shooting for Om Shanthi Oshana, Nazriya sheds more light on the issue.

What is the reason for your complaint to the Nadigar Sangam?

I came to know that certain scenes were released in the trailer, showing a body double instead of me. There is a close-up shot of a woman’s waist being pressed. The placement of it, is suggestive that it’s the heroine, when in fact I never did any such scene. I’m afraid, that if they have shown this in the trailer, there may be more scenes in the film itself. I have spoken about the matter to Radha Ravi sir of the Nadigar Sangam, and will be officially handing him a letter soon.

Did you approach director Sargunam for an explanation?

Yes, I did. He told me that since I had refused to do such scenes, he had used a body double in my place. I had made my discomfort with intimate scenes clear to him. But I never knew he would go ahead and shoot them with a dupe! To the general audience, using a dupe in such scenes would suggest that I did them, when in fact it’s not so! I don’t want any character I play, to be portrayed with any sort of skin show or intimacy. This is hugely upsetting.

What sort of redressal are you expecting?

I want them to remove all the scenes that I have not  done. I want to see a preview of the movie, before its release.
