Right after Warner Bros. decided to postpone the release of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet to August 12, Disney has announced that it’s upcoming film Mulan is getting delayed by weeks. The film was supposed to release on July 24 but it is now expected to hit the screens on August 21.
“While the pandemic has changed our release plans for Mulan and we will continue to be flexible as conditions require, it has not changed our belief in the power of this film and its message of hope and perseverance,” said Disney’s co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn and co-chairman Alan Bergman to Variety.
According to the website, it is said that Disney doesn’t want Mulan to be the first biggest release amidst the pandemic and become a test subject to predict the market. Directed by Niki Caro and stars Liu Yifei, Mulan is made on a budget of about $200 million. The film was first planned to be released on March 27.
