Ragini takes cue from Sudeep, buys a cricket team

The actress, whose favourite cricketer is Rahul Dravid, now owns Bellary Tuskers in KPL

A Sharadhaa

Cricket and entertainment have always gone hand in hand. Following  in the footsteps of our very own Sandalwood star Sudeep, who is currently backing the Shivammoga team, Ragini Dwivedi has purchased Bellary Tuskers in Karnataka Premier League.

Apparently the actress wanted to do something other than facing the arc lights, and therefore purchased the team in partnership with Arvind Reddy. We also hear that she has decided to use the proceeds from the tournaments for a social cause.

Ragini chose Bellary Tuskers because most of the players in the team are her friends. She was also happy to learn that it had drawn from local talent more than other teams.

The young actress has always had a craze for cricket. Though her current favourite in cricket is Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid has been her all-time favourite. She has watched almost all the matches played by him, and says that Rahul is a better batsman for his talent and patience. Ragini mentions the famous square cut shot of Rahul, in particular.

KPL is the brain child of KSCA and Brijesh Patel, former Test cricketer. The new season will begin this September 2016.
