The Villain, which released over the Dasara weekend has gotten an overwhelming response with cash registers jingling. According to trade pandits, as on Saturday, the film starring Shivarajkumar and Sudeep, along with Amy Jackson had made a gross collection of Rs 29 crores, GST and service tax included.
They were expecting it to go up to Rs 40 crores by Sunday. The distributors are hoping that if they meet the same kind of collection in the coming days for the next two to three weeks, they might even enter the 100-crore club. The film directed by Prem has also released outside Karnataka. They have increased the number of shows across state, especially in Hyderabad. The response in UK, Australia, Sydney and other countries has also been good.
