Aasha, headlined by Urvashi and Joju George, will hit screens on September 4. The release date was announced on Tuesday with a new poster featuring the two leads.

Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vijayaraghavan also feature in key roles in the film. It is directed by debutant Safar Sanal, who has also co-written the screenplay and dialogues with Joju and Ramesh Girija, the actor from Pani. Notably, Safar and Ramesh previously co-wrote the screenplay for Joju’s 2022 film Peace.

Aasha has Madhu Neelakandan as the cinematographer, Govind Vasantha as the composer, and Shan Mohammed as the editor. Vinayaka Ajith is producing the film, set for release in five languages.

Urvashi's forthcoming slate includes Visitor, a horror film co-starring Dhyan Sreenivasan and Navya Nair, and Paablo Paarty, a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual, which also stars her daughter, Teja Lakshmi. The mother-daughter duo are also teaming up for the Kannada film Bully, a dark comedy directed by Anup Antony.

Meanwhile, Joju is working on his new directorial Paripadi, which promises to be a gritty actioner on the lines of his debut film, Pani. On the acting front, he is reuniting with veteran director Joshiy after Porinju Mariam Jose and Antony for Kanaandesham, scripted by actor-writer-filmmaker Anoop Menon. Joju's next release will be debutant Manu Antony's Aja Sundari, produced by Aashiq Abu.
