Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal released this week. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali and it was expected that it will give a break to the dull phase at box office.
However inspite of getting decent occupancy of 40-45% on day one, the film has not managed to earn good money compared to Shah Rukh’s previous solo hero releases.
Jab Harry Met Sejal received mixed reviews and it released in 3,200 screens.
Yet it has managed to collect `16.50 crore on day one. It is said that these numbers are less that his earlier release Raees.
Raees was also a solo hero film and it clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil on January 25 this year.
The film opened well by earning ` 20 crore on day one.
Last week’s release Mubarakan which featured Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor has collected `35.66 crore in one week.
Alankrita Shrivastava’s film, Lipstick Under Burkha is still doing good business at box office and it has collected about `17. 25 crore in two weeks.
