BANGALORE: If the controversy between producer Chandrasekhar and Golden Star Ganesh is anything to go by, it seems that all is not well between them. Ganesh played the lead role in the movie Eno Onthara, produced by Chandrasekhar.
The film was slated for release a few months ago but was delayed due to financial crisis. Chandrasekhar was hospitalised, due to hypertension.
However, the film was finally released on November 12. The producer requested Ganesh to participate in the promotional activities but in vain. Now, while Ganesh is busy handling the megaphone for his upcoming movie Kool, Chandrasekhar seems to be in trouble.
It is said that the movie Eno Ontharaa, which was made with the total investment of `3 crore, did a business of not more than `30 lakh. “I requested Ganesh on several occasions to take part in the promotional activities of this film. He always agreed to come but never turned up. Moreover, even if he is approached by any media, to talk about the movie Eno Ontharaa, he diverts the topic and starts talking about his film Kool,” complains the producer.
Now, the producer is planning to file a complaint against Ganesh with the Kannada Film Producers’ Association and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. “Many of my friends and well-wishers have advised me to stage a dharna in front of Ganesh’s residence. They want him to act in one of my new films with minimum remuneration. I can recover the loss incurred from Eno Ontharaa, if Ganesh agrees to act in my film with minimum remuneration,” explains the producer.
Meanwhile, R S Gowda, producer and well-wisher of Chandrasekhar has criticised Ganesh for his irresponsible attitude. “A few years ago, Ganesh was content with local make-up men. Now, he demands producers to get make-up men from Mumbai. I condemn him for pressurising the producer on spending more money during the shooting of Eno Onthara,” said Gowda.
However, Ganesh was not available for comment.
