‘That orangutan was REAL’

Master Snehith, who was the hero in Appu Pappu, is insisting that his father to take him to Cambodia to meet Jeetu the orangutan who acted as his friend in the film, which is set to hit the screens soon.

“I want to go and meet Jeetu at any cost. I am not able to stand the comments made by my classmates. They say that I did not act with an orangutan and that the director must have used graphics. I want to prove that it is a real orangutan and not graphics. I want my father to bring the orangutan to Bangalore when Appu Pappu is slated for release,” said Snehith.

The audio of the film, which was produced by Snehith's father Soundarya Jagadeesh, a builder, was launched by Crazy Star Ravichandran recently. Rangayana Raghu, Abbas and Komal also play important roles in the film. Snehith, who made his debut in Sandalwood with a guest appearance in Mastu Majaa Maadi, said that it was very tough to adapt himself to acting with an orangutan. “I was scared to go near it. I was scared whenever it opened its mouth. Later it became my friend. I used to offer it fruit such as bananas and grapes. It ate a lot of fruit,” explained the actor.

It was not easy to find an orangutan for the film, said Jagadeesh. “We spent more than six months searching for a trained orangutan. Six trainers and four doctors used to accompany it. It was a nice experience for us in Cambodia,” said Jagadeesh.

Can cinegoers expect Jagadeesh to bring the orangutan to Bangalore when Appu Pappu hits the silver screen? “It would be difficult to bring it to Bangalore. My son is insisting that either I bring it to Bangalore or that I take him to Cambodia again to meet it. I am trying to convince him not to insist about going to Cambodia,” said Jagadeesh.
