Ugramm, it seems, has been an eye-opener for actor Sri Murali who is now raising the bar for his next flick Rathavara.
Apparently, the actor has dedicated six months of his time to work with director Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa and the team on the script and to shape himself for the character.
The pooja for the film, which was a low-key affair, took place a couple of weeks ago and the team plans to start shooting at the end of September. "Right now, all I want is a good looking body for the role. But yes, it will be necessary to have eight to ten pack abs, which is a must for my next film after Rathavara, which is a sports-based subject flick," Sri Murali reveals.
Talking about Rathavara, he says, "It is all about preparation. What you give is what you get. I admit, many a time, we blame others if the film fails," he says, adding that audiences aren't interested in these explanations.
"Today we have to work hard to lure a person to watch a movie. An actor can't relax. I also made sure Chandru (Chandrashekar) came up with the right script, so that he becomes an asset for the film industry. I am also introducing a couple of good actors in this film," says Sri Murali.
According to our sources, Rathavara will be purely a commercial fiction film with action sequences, and Sri Murali plays the role of an ultimate warrior. The film, however, is a modern tale and has no historic background.
"People want to watch me only in action for now. And, I have had enough of experimental films," says Sri Murali, adding, "Chandru has written a fabulous story, and I am taking up the project only because of the script. I believe in him and I am sure he is going to be a good director. Rathavara will be like a relaunch for him."
Meanwhile, Sri Murali also recently crossed 1,50,000 plus followers on his Facebook page for which he thanks all his fans.
The buzz around is that his fan base has not only increased after Ugramm, but directors and producers have booked the actor till 2016.
"My work has to do the talking and I am sincerely working towards doing some good films," he says with glee.
