Telly viewers have seen him in Punar Vivah, Love Ne Mila Di Jodi and many other serials but actor Dishank Arora feels his stint as an army officer in the Life OK new series Pukaar - Call for the Hero has been a challenge. In fact, the actor feels, it could be a turning point for him going by the character he has been assigned to play.
Telecast twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays, the action mini series directed by Vipul Shah, sees Dishank as an army officer, who plays the role of Raj Babbar’s younger son. ‘’Working with the likes of Vipul Shah, Raj Babbar and Rannvijay has given me a lot to learn from the show. And I am sure, these lessons will help me in my future assignments,’’ says the actor who hurt himself while shooting for the serial at Manali. The 24-episode serial began last Monday and the episodes will be in a flashback and forward mode. ‘’I am happy that with this action series, I have also been able to change my chocolate boy image. Moreover, I was able to relate to the character I was playing so it was an amazing experience,’’ says the actor who was born and brought up in Delhi.
After completing his BBA, Dishank started working with McDonalds and another BPO as well. It was at this stage that, on his friends’ insisitence, he got into a modelling competition for Guess Watches. “I was selected in top three from among the 75 contestants wordlwide. That is how my tryst with the entertainment industry started and I landed in Mumbai. Acting just happened after that,’’ explains Dishank who wants to grow as an actor and looks forward to some exciting offers.
‘’Quality for me is important not the quantity. As any aspiring actor, I would be too happy to do good films,’’ says a candid Dishank who loves driving, listening to music and is excited to spend more time rollerskating.
