Sundaranga Jaana review: Clean humour with ample twists

A Sharadhaa

Film: Sundaranga Jaana
Cast: Ganesh, Shanvi Srivastava
Director: Ramesh Aravind

Having been in the industry for three decades with more than 100 films and six directorial ventures, there is little doubt that Ramesh Arvind has been dreaming a long time to act with virtuosity. And his seventh directorial, Sundaranga Jaana is proof. Although the credit goes to Maruthi Dasari, who wrote and directed the original 2015 Telugu film, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Ramesh Arvind has stamped his own signature all over the Kannada version.

Ganesh and Shanvi Srivastava

A light-hearted romantic comedy, the freshness of Sundaranga Jaana lies in the dollops of creative inputs by the director while the lead actor Ganesh elevates the movie to another level with his acting and comic timing. There is sincerity in action and the duo surely can make for a balanced pair in the future.
As for the film, it revolves around Lucky, an absent-minded junior botanist who is easily distracted by other tasks while working on something else. The way he falls in love and how he hides his amnesia from his lover, to finally win the trust of her father and her hand is shown in a crisp format, which does not lose focus till the end.

The excellent production qualities are evident right from the beginning and the laudable performances by Ganesh and Shanvi just add to the joy of watching the film. While Devaraj shines in his role as Shanvi’s father, the other  actors like Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar Gowda, and Rangayana Raghu, Vasishta Simha keep the momentum going.
The dialogues packed with clean humour entertain while Ajaneesh Lothnath’s music is melodious with simple but elegant picturisation by cinematographer Manohar Joshi. Watch Sundaraanga Jaana for a balanced dose of wit with twists.
