Sonia Agarwal returns with Simbu film

The ex-wife of director Selvaraghavan stars as Prakash Raj's wife in the Tamil remake of the Telugu film 'Vedam'.

CHENNAI: Actress Sonia Agarwal had quit films after she married director Selvaraghavan. But after the marriage ended, she is now making her comeback in films. She is going to star in ‘Vaanam’.

‘Vaanam’ is a remake of Telugu blockbuster movie ‘Vedam’ which had Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and Anushka in the lead roles. Inspired from Hollywood movie ‘Powder Blue’, the film revolves around 5 people who have their own dreams and destinations. Situation brings them all together, thereby influencing their lives.

The Tamil version has Silambarasan in the role of Cable Raju that was performed by Allu Arjun. Bharat plays the role of a rock musician (performed by Manchu Manoj in Telugu) while Anushka plays the role of a sex-worker. Prakash Raj will play the role that was donned by Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpai. Sonia Agarwal will be his wife in this film.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for the film and Nirav Shah handles the cinematography.

The film’s first schedule has already ended. The film is likely to hit the theatres on Diwali this year.
