Renowned playback singer Mano’s second son Ratesh debuts as hero in a film titled Vetri. The film is directed by debutant C Parthipan and produced by D Satish Kumar. In a noble gesture, the debutant producer will give 50 per cent of the film’s profits to the crew of his film. It may be recalled that Mano’s older son Shakir debuted as an actor in Naanga.

Says Ratesh, “I always wanted to be an actor since childhood. Even though I studied fashion designing in Hyderabad, films were always a passion.” But Ratesh met with a motorbike accident just a month before the shoot. He lost a lot of blood and had to have 18 stitches on his body, the scars of which are still visible on his face.

“I owe a lot to my producer and director who waited till I became well. Even my facial scars were covered with make up for the film,” he says.

Arundathi plays opposite him in the action-cum-love story, while Seetha plays his mother. The music is by Sree Sai. The audio of the film was recently released by Sneha and Prasanna in the presence of industry bigwigs.
