HYDERABAD: Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 will be the perfect platform to exchange ideas which will help involve more women entrepreneurs who can also make use of technology, feels Ana Raguz, the project coordinator of Aurora.hr platform in Croatia.  The platform, which was launched as part of Road to GES, is aimed to build networks and increase participation of women in innovation using technology. This is one of the programmes under Impact Hub Zagreb, a space for entrepreneurs and social innovators to connect.

With only three per cent of adult women working in STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and IT fields in Croatia, the Impact Hub through Aurora.hr aims to build a community of women and girls around STEM fields. Speaking about her experiences at the Impact Hub Zagreb, where they work with a number of women, Ana says, it is the time for women to start acknowledging their ability to innovate. Innovation can happen through technology.

“We have several initiatives popularising not only technology but STEM fields in general among women especially the young girls. We are building communities around women in tech through different activities while raising awareness on gender equality, mostly due to the fact that women are underrepresented in many sectors,” said Ana.
