Blood signature campaign in support of farmers agitating in Delhi

COIMBATORE: People from different walks of life, including farmers, students and general public, today launched a blood signature campaign to express solidarity with farmers agitating in the national capital for over a month.

Their thumb impressions with blood was affixed on paper expressing support to the farmers, who are demanding waiver of nationalised bank loans, constitution of Cauvery Management board and drought relief of Rs 40,000 crore.

There was a plan to collect two lakh thumb impressions and send it to the President, seeking his intervention on the issues affecting ryots, police said.

Farmers' belonging to Apolitical Farmers' Association, present at the venue, accused the Centre of neglecting the interest of Tamil Nadu farmers.
