Former Haryana minister Kirpa Ram Punia joins BSP

Punia, who was an industry minister during the Devi Lal government in Haryana, has been made the BSP's campaign in- charge in Haryana, the party's in-charge for Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.

CHANDIGARH: Former Haryana minister Kirpa Ram Punia today joined the BSP here.

Punia, who was an industry minister during the Devi Lal government in Haryana, has been made the BSP's campaign in- charge in Haryana, the party's in-charge for Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, Megh Raj, told reporters.

"Punia will work with the state members to connect party with every section of the society and to campaign intensively in the state," Megh Raj said.

Punia said it was the Bahujan Samaj Party's principle to take all sections of society together. "I believe (BSP chief) Mayawati will fulfil the hopes of the people of Haryana." Megh Raj said: "We will continue to rope in persons like Punia in our party as we want to form the government in Haryana after the next assembly polls (due in 2019)." "We are very much committed to serve people and will try to defeat right-wing and communal parties in the state so that true wave of development can be witness by the state," he said.
