RSS chief's speech an insult to every Indian: Rahul Gandhi

Gandhi slammed Bhagwat over his remarks that the RSS could "prepare" military personnel faster than the Army.

SHAHPUR: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday urged RSS chief Mohan Bhagavat to apologise for his comments on raising a force in three days and insulting the country's armed forces.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Rahul said be it paramilitary forces or Army, Navy and the Air force, they work within their discipline. Bhagavat 's comment on force was not in good taste and highly condemnable, so he must apologise to the forces.

On Sunday, RSS chief Bhagwat at a meeting of the organisation in Muzaffarpur had said that RSS has the capacity to raise a force, when the country needs it, in just three days, compared to the Army that would take six to seven months to do the same.

Raising the same three questions on Rafale deal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress chief said, "The NDA government cancelled earlier contract with HAL to favour Modi's friend. As a result youth of Karnataka have lost a huge employment opportunity. It was a big loss for Karnataka," he added.
