Four of Telangana family killed in car accident in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district

While returning to Khagaznagar, the driver lost control of the car near Devad village, rammed into a culvert, and the vehicle overturned.

ADILABAD: Four members of a family, including a minor girl, were killed and two others injured in a road accident near Dewada village in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Salma Begum (35), her daughter Uksha Sakarin (14), Afzal Baigh (40), and Sahira Begum (35), all natives of Khagaznagar town in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Police said the family had boarded an autorickshaw to return to their native place when the driver lost control of the vehicle, rammed into a culvert, and overturned in the middle of the road.

Four of them died on the spot due to the impact. Police suspect that the driver, Md Zakir, was under the influence of alcohol while driving the three-wheeler. A case has been registered against him.
