Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with the newly appointed office-bearers of the BJP's national executive, as the party's new organisational team met at its headquarters in New Delhi and discussed preparations for upcoming Assembly elections and grassroots mobilisation.
The meeting was the first interaction between Modi and all members of the new national team headed by BJP president Nitin Nabin, which was announced on August 17. Some office-bearers of the outgoing national executive and state unit chiefs also attended.
“Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team,” Modi said in a post on X.
The BJP said Modi shared his insights and perspectives with the newly appointed organisational team on strengthening the party's organisation and deepening its connect with people.
The new national team comprises 65 office-bearers, including 51 new faces. Those present at Saturday's meeting included BJP vice-presidents Ram Madhav and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje; general secretaries Smriti Irani and former Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb; general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh; and treasurer and Union minister Piyush Goyal.
According to party sources, the meeting focused on preparations for upcoming state Assembly elections, grassroots mobilisation and taking government initiatives to the public.
