Actor Dhananjay, who started off in theatre before getting onto the silver screen, was nostalgic when he got to perform a solo play, Shraddha, at a theatre festival held in Virgina, Washington DC, on April 29.

The actor spoke to City Express from Frankfurt airport, while he was on his way to Germany. “After 7 years, I’m back to performing on stage, I was reminded of my theatre days. When I come back to India, I plan on restarting my theatre activities,” he says.

Oon vacation in Germany right now, Dhananjay is excited and eager to meet his mentor, Christian Stucki, who trained him at a theatre workshop a decade ago. “Whenever Christian visited India, I would make sure to meet him. This time, I am in Germany to meet him and my friends.”

Apparently, the Kannada Sangha in Munich, Amsterdam and Milan, who learnt of Dhananjay’s visit to Germany, have arranged a special screening of his recent film, Allama. “The screening is not part of any film promotion. I am on vacation, and would want to spend time with my friends while I also meet and greet all the Kannadigas out here,” he says.

The actor will be back on May 9 and will be promoting his forthcoming film, Happy New Year, which is slated to release this week.
