Slaying it like a rocking star he is

Comparisons are being drawn with real-life goonda Thangam and Yash’s character in K.G.F; but director Prashanth Neel has denied this

A Sharadhaa

The first poster of Yash’s upcoming film, K.G.F, is out and the actor is completely slaying the ruffian look in it. The actor had to put in months of effort to perfect his look - from his hairdo to even his beard! Even though the team isn’t ready yet to reveal details about his character in the film, the director, Prashanth Neel, says that the onlookers seen in the background of the intriguing poster are all real.

When asked to define the poster, Prashanth says, “It is an outburst, and there are elements of passion and emotion added. With just eighteen percent of shooting completed , this is all I can reveal about K.G.F at this moment, but I can confidently say that there is a lot more to come.

Another aspect that will catch everyone’s attention is the tagline below the title of the film, which reads that K.G.F is based on a true story. Written in red, but scribbled on in white, this does draw a lot of attention and assumptions are being made on what the film is about. “This has been done deliberately,” says Prashanth. However, the director made sure to state that K.G.F does not have any connection with the real-life rowdy Thangam’s life, as many people have assumed, and that there is no resemblance to that character. “In fact, the makers of Kolar, a film based on Thangam, had even questioned this and told me that they have rights on Thangam’s story, and that I should not be making anything related to him. I had promised them that there is nothing based on Thangam in my film, and that I don’t even know what his real life story is,” he says.

K.G.F  will be a mega budget movie, made under Hombale Films. The film has Srinidhi Shetty playing the female lead, with Naina also playing an important role. K.G.F is made under Hombale Films had music by Ravi Basrur and the cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda.
