Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition

(Approx. Rs 39,000)

The Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is the antitheses of ‘bloatware’, the deluge of unnecessary apps and services that are added to the phone. It is the smartphone running stock Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2. You still get the 5-inch 1080p display, the 13-megapixel camera and the Quad core processor in a white package with 16GB of internal memory while enjoying the pure Android goodness and getting direct software updates from Google.

Galaxy S4 Active

(Approx. Rs 35,000)

Active is the Galaxy S4’s ‘whatever-proof’ edition, the biggest selling point being that it is dust-proof and that it can stay under one metre of water for 30 minutes. On the face of it, the Active invokes the classic S4 on many fronts starting from the TouchWiz skin on top of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and other S4 features like Air View, Air Gesture and Smart Pause.

Galaxy S4 Zoom

(Price Rs 29,900)

So you want a high quality camera. And a smartphone. Why buy and carry around two devices seems to be Samsung’s philosophy behind making the S4 Zoom. On the face of it is a 16 megapixel point and shoot camera with 10x optical zoom lens. Flip it around and you see a phone with a 4.3-inch qHD display.

Galaxy S4 Mini

(Approx. Rs 27,900)

The S4 Mini is the embodiment of Samsung’s policy of making phones in every size and colour. It has a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED screen powered by a 1.7-GHz dual-core CPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The internal storage of 8GB is supplemented by an external storage that can be expanded up to 64GB. Running Android 4.2, there is an 8 megapixel primary camera on the back and a 1.9 megapixel secondary camera on the front for video calls.
