Micromax Launches World's 'Slimmest' Phone in India

The device, which has LTE support and a Sony Exmos CMOS chip-attached camera with Blue Filter, will come with an AMOLED display and will be available in two colours -- gold and black.

NEW DELHI:  Micromax, a home-bred phone manufacturer, on Thursday launched its flagship smartphone Canvas Sliver 5 here. The company says the device is the slimmest and lightest in the world.

The 97 gram device will ship with a 5.1 mm thick body. 

The device, which has LTE support and a Sony Exmos CMOS chip-attached camera with Blue Filter, will come with an AMOLED display and will be available in two colours -- gold and black. 

The phone will also sport a DiracHD audio suite that promises deeper sound and better bass. 

It will come with a Airtel double data package and will be backed by a DDR3 RAM and a 2,000 mAH battery for longer usage. 

Micromax currently has the second largest market share in India with 18 percent following Samsung which has 22 percent according to analytics firm IDC.
