Pradeep Palluruthy, famous for songs like ‘Vethyasthanamoru Balan..’, is turning director. The Kochi-based singer will yield the megaphone for the movie titled In the name of Kumbalangi, that will go on the floors in July.
According to the director, the movie revolves around issues that spring up after a bridge comes up in the water-locked Kumbalangi. “Three outsiders come to Kumbalangi and the movie is about how people deal them,” he said.
However, Pradeep says it isn’t a comic ride. “There is situational humour, but one can’t call it an comedy movie. It tackles a very serious issue,” he added.
Though the main leads have been decided, the director says they are yet to finalise the formal proceedings. “We will have top artists in the movie. We are in talks with them. As of now, we have finalised artists like Alancier Ley and Sudhi Koppa. The main leads will be announced soon,” he added.
