NEW DELHI: CPI State secretary K Narayana on Saturday said that both the governments at the Centre and State would change after General Elections.

Defending the Grand Alliance of the TDP, TRS and Left parties in the State, Narayana said that defeating the corrupt ruling Congress is the only agenda of the alliance.

Pointing out that CPI fought elections along with the Congress party in the last elections, Narayana said that his party will always oppose the anti-people policies of the Government and corrupt practices. He said that Congress party after coming to power in the State had distanced itself from the people.

On seat sharing, Narayana said: “Though there are some problems, seat sharing would be a smooth affair. It would be finalized in a fortnight.” He made it clear that there will be no joint manifesto for the Grand Alliance.

He said that state-wide ‘Jail Bharo’ programme would be taken up on February 26.

Referring to the alleged corruption of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Narayana said that it is a national issue. “Central Government should immediately initiate prosecution of Chief Minister. Left parties would raise the issue in Parliament,” he added.
