Lawyers block rail traffic in Ghaziabad

Hundreds of lawyers blocked rail traffic here for over three hours today, demanding a High Court bench in western Uttar Pradesh.

Hundreds of lawyers blocked railtraffic here for over three hours today, demanding a HighCourt bench in western Uttar Pradesh.

All court-related work in the district remained suspendeddue to the protest. Lawyers from adjoining districts ofGhaziabad also took part in the protest.

"We need a separate bench of High Court. The state andcentral government should understand the sentiments of peoplein western Uttar Pradesh," a lawyer said.

Police, meanwhile, has registered a case against theagitating lawyers.
