FARIDABAD: Tax Bar Association of Faridabad has decided to provide legal aid to the residents of Atali village, which recently witnessed two communal clashes.

In order to help the residents of Atali in legal matters and make them aware of their rights, the body held a meeting at the Lawyers' Chamber Building here. During the meeting, senior advocate O P Sharma announced the formation of Faridabad unit of 'Lawyers for Social Justice', which he said will organise a 'Legal Clinic' at Lal Das Mandir in the village.

Sharma said the clinic would educate the people not to desert their houses and inform them about their rights against any atrocities by government agencies. On May 25, at least five persons were injured and around 15 houses gutted after a clash erupted between two communities over construction of a religious structure.

On July 1, minor clashes again erupted in which four persons were injured.
