NEW DELHI: The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under Ministry of Personnel is in fix over a cadre transfer case of IPS-IAS officer couple on the grounds of marriage. Ram Chandra Rajguru, IPS officer of Bihar Cadre, 2013 batch had applied for cadre change from Bihar to Uttarakhand after he married Ranjana, an IAS officer of 2010 batch of Uttarakhand Cadre. However, a meeting held on August 31 in North Block was informed that Rajuguru’s cadre change request was denied due to declining of ‘No Objection’ by the Bihar government.
The meeting chaired Sanjay Kothari, Secretary DoPT was informed that a fresh application has been moved again, this time by Ranjana. But, since the matter involves an IPS officer, further clarification has sought from the Home Ministry, as it is the Cadre controlling authority.
Interestingly, in the same meeting the Panel on inter-cadre deputation chaired by Kothari cleared the applications of two couples. The first case was of cadre transfer of Uma Maheshwari, IAS officer of UP cadre to MP Cadre on the grounds of marriage with Frank Noble , IAS officer of 2013 batch. The panel agreed in principle for the proposal and directed that after receipt of comments of both the states, the matter will be taken up for final approval. DoPT Panel also agreed to inter cadre transfer of Aanchal Sood, IAS officer of 2014 of Uttarakhand Cadre to Maharashtra Cadre on the grounds of marriage to Nimit Goyal, an IPS officer of 2014 batch.
In July, DoPT had approved inter cadre transfer of Manisha Khatri, IAS officer of Karnataka cadre to Maharashtra after her marriage to Jalaj Sharma and had asked for the comments of state governments. Another application of IAS couple Swadha Dev and Chanchal Rana (2014 batch) were also given in principle approval for cadre transfer of Swadha from Sikkim to Odisha.
