Violence in Panchkula over Dera chief Ram Rahim's arrest on August 25 was pre-planned, claims SIT

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Haryana Police has claimed that on August 17 a meeting was held at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa where the plan was hatched for the violence.

CHANDIGARH: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Haryana Police probing the origin of the violence that broke out on August 25 in Panchkula after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction in two rape cases has claimed that on August 17 a meeting was held at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa where the plan was hatched for the violence.

The police claimed that the mobile location of all the alleged accused has now also confirmed this fact. Reportedly, the meeting was headed by Honeypreet Insaan and was attended by 20 of the 45 committee members including Aditya Insaan and Gopal Insaan.

Meanwhile, according to sources, CP Arora, the chartered accountant of Dera had during his questioning, told the police about the foreign investments and properties of the Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Now the ED is tightening the noose around and arconducting searches at the Dera HQ in Sirsa. “Haryana Police has also handed over a dairy and hard disc which contains details of properties of Dera to the official of the ED,” said a police official.
