Jharkhand: Huge quantity of explosive materials seized in Pakur, one arrested

PAKUR: Police today seized huge quantity of explosive materials, including gelatin rods and detonators from Tursadih under Hiranpur Police Station area of this district.

Pakur SP Shailendra Barnwal today said that police received a secret tip off that explosives were kept in the house of one Jetha Tudu in Bhandrao village which following which a police team conducted raids.

Upon seeing the police three men started to run away out of which one was caught while two others managed to escape.

The arrested has been identified as Jetha Tudu while those who managed to escape included Sabir Ali and Mohan Yadav.

The items which have been recovered by the police included 340 pieces of detonators, 269 pieces of gelatin rods, 27 kilograms of ammonium nitrate.

Police said that the explosives were meant to be used in illegal stone mines being operated in the area.
