JAIPUR: Inflammatory and highly irresponsible statements from party leaders are worsening the embarrassment for the Vasundhra Raje government in Rajasthan where the gau rakshaks are said to be involved in the killing of Rakbar Khan.

In the latest case of a BJP leader shooting their mouth off, Jaswant Singh Yadav, the labour and employment minister in the Vasundhara government who is an MLA from Behror in Alwar has appealed to "Muslims to understand the sentiments of Hindus and stop smuggling cows."

Referring to the Muslims, the minister also said that "they must stop this business. As far as his death is concerned, I express condolence and I stand against those who take law in their hands."

When Rajasthan home minister Gulab Chand Kataria was asked in Alwar on Tuesday about the statement given by Jaswant Singh Yadav he became uncomfortable and said, “Don't talk rubbish, be quiet. I have not come to talk over others. I will speak about my work only.”

Another BJP MLA from Rajgrah in Alwar had earlier caused embarrassment Raje by claiming that it was the beating by Alwar Police that was responsible for the death of lynching victim.
