PURULIA: A day after interacting intensely with party workers and intellectuals in Kolkata, BJP chief Amit Shah will address a rally here essentially to consolidate its support base in tribal stronghold areas in onetime Naxal inhabited district.
Mr Shah is likely to attack Mamata Banerjee government for growing incidents of political violence in the state.
The saffron party made significant gains in last month's rural polls.
The BJP has alleged that three of its supporters were killed in Purulia before and after the rural polls in the state chiefly by Trinamool workers.
Mr Shah arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday on a two-day visit.
The BJP has named the podium, "Shahid Jagannath Tudu, Trilochan Mahato, Dulal Kumar Smaran Mancha" in the memory of its three workers for the rally in Purulia.
The district Trinamool leaders have, however, said the three deaths should not be linked to politics as one died in an accident and the second committed suicide.
In his address at a function in Kolkata on Wednesday, BJP president said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of New India is truly in line with the immortal song Vande Mataram penned by legendary Bengali writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
BJP has set a target of 26 seats out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal for 2019 general elections.
