Mumbai, Dec 22 (PTI) Private carrier Jet Airways hasannounced a New Year sale scheme, offering 10 per centdiscount on base fares in the Economy and up to 15 per cent onBusiness class tickets in the domestic sector.

The bookings for the 11-day fare sale can be madebetween December 23 and January 2, and travel period beginsfrom January 15, 2018, Jet Airways said in a statement today.

The discount offer is applicable on 44 domesticnetwork, the airline said, adding a one-way economy ticketstarting from Rs 1,001.

With this step the company aims to encourage more people tobuy insurance, the company said in a release.

"This New Year, we are taking one more step in thisdirection by re-looking at our prices and lowering premiumrates in private car segment, which will create value formoney for our customers," Bajaj Allianz General managingdirector Tapan Singhel said.

The company through this move hope to encourage morepeople to cover their risk, thereby improving penetration ofinsurance in the country, he added.
