Srinagar, Oct 24 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir governmenthas welcomed the appointment of former IB chief DineshwarSharma as the Centre's representative for a sustained dialoguewith all stakeholders to resolve the Kashmir issue.
A state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief MinisterMehbooba Mufti last evening welcomed the Centre's decision, aspokesperson said.
The cabinet observed that dialogue is the only wayforward to address the issue in the larger interest of peaceand stability in the state.
It noted that the initiative is in line with PrimeMinister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech that laidemphasis on embracing the people of Jammu and Kashmir. PTI MIJGVS.
